SUMMARY:Symphony Masterworks
DESCRIPTION:ALDA DIZDARI (Great Britain) violin\nSYMPHONY ORCHESTRA FŚ\nJACEK ROGALA conductor \nE. ELGAR Violin Concerto in B minor Op. 61\nE. GRIEG Symphonic dances op. 64 \n  \nAn extraordinary program with symphony masterpieces and the excellent Alda Dizdari – our guest from Great Britain – will please not only music lovers!\nFirst\, Sir Edward William Elgar and his only Violin Concerto – it was created in 1910\, a romantic\, epic work. In 1932\, the seventy-five-year-old composer decided to record a Concert . The producer chose Yehudi Menuhin as the soloist – the young violinist at the age of 16 and was\, as Elgar wrote to Bernard Shaw\, “a wonderful child.” After recording\, the composer turned to Menuhin\, “For my old years\, nothing could give me as much artistic satisfaction as your performance of the concert.”\nIn four-part Symphonic DancesEdvard Grieg’s most interesting is the orchestra\, of which the composer was extremely proud. But also the most beautiful is probably the last part of the work – not devoid of dark\, disturbing colours\, in which there are clearly references to the gloomy moments of music to the drama Peer Gynt. \nALDA DIZDARI\nBritish citizen\, she was born in a family of musicians in Albania. She studied in Romania with outstanding soloists and obtained a bachelor’s degree at the University of Bucharest. She continued her MA studies at the University of Illinois in the USA and Advanced Instrumental Studies in London at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with David Takeno. Since her debut at Wigmore Hall\, she has performed in all major concert halls in Great Britain and has regularly appeared on BBC Radio 3 programs. In 2015 she began the tour promoting the Violin ConcertoElgar in Eastern Europe\, it was then that the premiere performance of this song took place in her home country. In 2013 and 2014 she performed a complete set of works for Beethoven and Brahms violin and piano and released three highly rated albums\, one of which was recorded live from Wigmore Hall. She was selected by Gramophone magazine in the May 2011 issue as the musician “One to Watch” to which attention should be paid. Internationally\, she gained fame in 2008. She performs regularly in all prestigious London venues\, including the Southbank Center and Cadogan Hall. In 2008 she performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Albanian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra. Her debut in the UK at Canterbury Cathedral was in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of Albania. In 2006 she was nominated for the first time for the “Best Classical Musician of the Year” award in her native Albania. He is a teacher at music schools in the country. \nJACEK ROGALA\nDirector of the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic

SUMMARY:An Evening with Alda Dizdari // Cadogan Hall\, London [2019]
DESCRIPTION:Back in October 2018\, Alda performed Elgar’s Violin Concerto to an almost sold out crowd of affirmed enthusiasts in the prestigious Cadogan Hall\, London. On the same evening she launched the book inspired by her travels around Eastern Europe promoting and premiering this work on the most famous British composer. \n“Kiss me Again; A Memoir of Elgar in Unusual Places” instantly turned Alda from a foreigner living in Britain to an acknowledged source in her field\, with pre-concert coverage on BBC Radio 3\, BBC Radio 4 and in The Sunday Times. She is now very much a household name with the capacity to share a British spirit that embraces both english heritage and foreign culture through music and art. \nOn Tuesday 7th May Alda returns to Cadogan Hall\, London\, for a Gala Fundraising Recital (in the presence of her Patron Princess Michael of Kent and under the auspices of the Wapping Arts Trust) at which Alda will aim to launch her next big chapter with Elgar. Funds collected from the event will go towards a recording of this masterpiece in another unconventional place – this time in the heart of Russia [Moscow] with the vibrant Musica Viva Ensemble and renowned conductor Alexander Walker. \nContinuing to follow her very own unique path\, Alda has decided to launch the recording in Vinyl format – bringing to an oversaturated market a sound that retains the nostalgia of a bygone era. \nAlda commented\, “The last recording of this piece in vinyl format\, was pressed in the seventies – so this really is a unique and significantly historic opportunity. We’ll of course be embracing modern day technologies by producing digital downloads and SACDs\, so it really is a globally accessible\, and in some ways it’s a beautiful harmony in itself of the future meeting the past. All contributions\, no matter how big or small\, are greatly appreciated to helping us achieve this momentous target\, and there are so many ways enthusiasts can participate”.  \nTo take part in Alda’s project you can simply donate an amount of your choice\, or you can purchase some of the exclusive gifts we have available including VIP entry to the Gala Fundraising Concert at Cadogan Hall\, London on 7th May. \n  \nTICKETS: https://cadoganhall.com/whats-on/alda-dizdari-violin-recital/\nDONATE: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/aldadizdari/elgar-violin-concerto-recording-with-musica-viva-i

SUMMARY:Stradivari Trust Concert Series: Alda Dizdari // Hughes Hall\, Cambridge Univ.
DESCRIPTION:College members are invited to the second concert in the Stradivari Concert Series for this academic year when renowned Albanian violinist Alda Dizdari will be performing . \nAlda has been enjoying great critical acclaim lately.  An article about her appeared in the Sunday Times Culture Magazine on 7th October\, focusing on her passion for Elgar\, in particular his Violin Concerto.  Her research led to the publication of a book she has written about the composer called Kiss Me Again: A Memoir of Elgar in Unusual Places.  Following the launch of the book in the Cadogan Hall on 14th October\, Alda was interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Today’ programme and also appeared on ‘In Tune’ with Sean Rafferty on the 12th performing some Elgar and talking about the book. \nSome years ago The Stradivari Trust set up a scheme to acquire on Alda’s behalf a beautiful violin bow by Dominique Peccatte (c 1850)\, which she is currently in the process of buying back. Peccatte (1810-1874) worked in Paris\, beginning at J.B. Vuillaume’s workshop in 1826 before joining François Lupot ten years later\, eventually taking over the business after Lupot’s death.  He is widely considered to be one of the most influential bow-makers of all time. \nAlda will be performing a programme which of course includes Elgar as well as Enescu’s Third Violin Sonata and Ravel (Tzigane). She will be accompanied by pianist Tom Blach. \nThe concert will begin at 6pm (doors open at 5.45pm) and will be followed by a drinks reception.\nAs places are limited please respond as soon as possible if you would like to attend.\nKindly RSVP to Kate Lee by phone 01223 353070 or email instrument.schemes@googlemail.com. \nParking is available at the college.
